Deeside’s Estuary Gardens welcomes Simon Doherty as GM

Estuary Gardens, a new purpose-built care home due to open in Deeside later this year, has appointed Simon Doherty as its general manager.
The home, part of the Crystal Care Collection, will provide residential and dementia care for up to 66 older adults. It combines modern facilities with a person-centred approach focused on comfort and connection.
Simon Doherty brings more than 24 years’ experience managing care homes and is a trained Dementia Mapper. He was recently named Northwest Regional Winner in the Dementia Carer category at the 2024 Great British Care Awards.
Simon said: “Estuary Gardens will be a place that feels like home—where residents feel safe, valued, and remain part of the community they know and love. Through our ‘Community Tree’ initiative, we’ll be connecting with local people, schools, voluntary groups, and organisations to ensure our residents always feel like they belong.”
Estuary Gardens will hold a Grand Opening event on Saturday 13th September, inviting local families, professionals, and community members to tour the home, meet the team, and learn more about the services on offer.
