Welsh Water (Dŵr Cymru) has confirmed a burst water main is affecting supply to properties in the Hawarden and Deeside CH5 area.

Residents have reported low pressure or no water since Sunday morning while engineers work to locate and repair the fault.

The company said it expects all supplies to be fully restored later this afternoon.

In an update published on its website, Welsh Water said: “We’re aware of a burst on our network which is affecting the water supply to this area. Until the pipe is fixed, you may experience low pressure or no water. We expect all supplies to be fully restored by later this afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The affected area covers parts of Hawarden, Ewloe, Aston and nearby communities, with a map on the company’s website showing the CH5 zone currently under repair.

Welsh Water outlined five main stages of repair: investigation, locating the fault, repair work, reinstating normal service and issuing a final update once complete.

The company advised customers to run their cold kitchen tap to help clear any discolouration in their supply once service resumes.

Customers who may need additional support can register for the firm’s Priority Services scheme, which offers reassurance against bogus callers, alternative information channels, and where possible, bottled water deliveries for those with medical needs.
