Nightingale House Hospice launches new website with simpler self-referral

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Flintshire patients and their families have a simpler route to free hospice care after Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham launched a redesigned website.

The new site has a simpler self-referral process for patients and improved referral pathways for healthcare professionals across the hospice’s catchment area.

That catchment stretches from Wrexham, Flintshire and east Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns of Oswestry, Ellesmere, Wem and Whitchurch.

The site sets out the services the hospice provides, including inpatient care, wellbeing services, family support, complementary therapies and outpatient support, with information on fundraising, volunteering, gifts in wills and donations.

Lauren Emberton, Chief Executive Officer at Nightingale House Hospice, said:

“We are incredibly proud to launch our new website, which represents a significant step forward in improving how people access information, support and services at Nightingale House Hospice.”

“We know that reaching out to a hospice can sometimes feel daunting, so it was really important to us that the website feels welcoming, easy to navigate and accessible for everyone. The new self-referral process will help people access support more quickly, while healthcare professionals can now make referrals in a much more streamlined and efficient way.”

Further developments are planned, including patient and family resources, self-help information, educational content and videos for people living with life-limiting illnesses and their carers.

Nightingale House Hospice is an independent registered charity. Its services are free of charge, with most running costs met through fundraising, its on-site café and retail outlets.

The new website is at nightingalehouse.co.uk.
