Plans have been submitted for the construction of a three-bay driving facility at Hawarden Golf Club on Groomsdale Lane, Hawarden.

The full planning application relates to a single-storey structure measuring 9m wide by 3m deep, with a maximum height of 3.5m.

It would provide three individual practice bays for members and for coaching delivered by the club professional.

Hawarden Golf Club operates an 18-hole parkland course and associated facilities including a clubhouse and parking areas.

According to the planning statement, the proposed structure would be built using hit-and-miss timber boarding with a grey plastic roof.

No external lighting is proposed, and the facility would operate during the club’s existing daylight hours.

The application states that access would use existing pathways and parking within the site.

No additional car parking spaces are proposed. The statement also says the development would not involve significant earthworks, tree removal or changes to drainage.

The site is not within a conservation area, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or Site of Special Scientific Interest, according to the submitted documents.

Flintshire County Council will determine the application in due course.
