Yellow wind warning issued for Flintshire on Thursday with gusts of up to 70mph forecast

A yellow weather warning has been issued for Flintshire covering Thursday, with the Met Office forecasting strong winds and heavy rain from 5am until 8pm.
Gusts of 50 to 55mph are expected across the area, with coastal locations and ground exposed to higher elevations potentially seeing 60mph, and isolated spots reaching 70mph.
The warning was issued by the Met Office at 9.40am on Wednesday.
Flintshire is one of six north and mid Wales council areas included in the warning, alongside Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey and Wrexham.

The Met Office says some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely during the warning period.
Bus and train services may be affected, with some journeys taking longer than usual.
High-sided vehicles face a higher risk of delays on exposed routes and bridges.
The Met Office also says some short-term loss of power is possible, and that coastal communities may be affected by spray and large waves.
The warning covers a broad area of the UK, including large parts of north-west England, Scotland and the Midlands.
Winds are expected to ease from the north through the day on Thursday as the front moves south-east.
The Met Office advises drivers to check road conditions before travelling and to allow extra time.
Residents are also advised to prepare for the possibility of a power cut by ensuring torches, batteries and a mobile phone power pack are readily available.
Anyone near the coast is advised to stay clear of large waves, keep dogs on leads near cliff paths, and call 999 and ask for the Coastguard in an emergency.
