Chester’s Stile Napoletano is hosting a one-night Neapolitan tasting menu on Wednesday 11 March, with chef-owner Giacomo Guido collaborating with Michelin-trained chef Lorenzo Fuoco for two sittings at 5.30pm and 8pm.

The restaurant, which holds 13th place in Europe’s best pizzerias according to 50 Top Pizza, says demand is expected to be high following a sell-out Chef’s Night previously.

Fuoco trained at Mezzatorre Hotel and Regina Isabella under Michelin-starred chef Pasquale Palamaro on the island of Ischia, and now runs Kantharos, a gastronomic wine shop in Forio on Ischia. Both he and Guido grew up on the island.

The five-course menu opens with a mushroom essence before moving through a series of pizza-based dishes using sourced Italian produce, including Scarpariello with DOP San Marzano tomatoes and Parmigiano Reggiano fondue, and a four-cheese pizza finished with burnt lemon and rosemary oil. The evening closes with a dessert called La Regina.

Guido said: “Lorenzo is a friend as well as an exceptional chef, and we share the same roots in Ischia, which makes this collaboration incredibly personal. We’re challenging the idea that pizza is simply quick or casual. In Naples, it’s serious craft.”

Tickets are £50 per person, with a 50% deposit required to confirm a reservation. Stile Napoletano is at 49 Watergate Street, Chester. Reservations can be made by calling 01244 320543.
