An 18-year-old man from Prestatyn has pleaded guilty to the murder of his mother.

Tristan Thomas Roberts, of Coniston Drive, admitted the offence when he appeared at Mold Crown Court earlier today, Thursday 5 February.

The charge relates to the death of 45-year-old Angela Shellis, whose body was found in undergrowth in the Morfa area of Prestatyn on the morning of 24 October 2025.

A member of the public made the discovery, prompting a murder investigation by detectives from North Wales Police.

Based on the circumstances surrounding her death, officers treated the incident as murder from the outset.

Roberts was identified as a suspect and arrested at his home address later that day. He was formally charged with murder four days later, on 28 October.

Following his guilty plea, Roberts was remanded in custody.

He is due to be sentenced at Mold Crown Court on Wednesday 25 March 2026.
