Suspicious activity reported after horse escapes from Flintshire stable yard

Police are appealing for information after a young horse was found roaming on a road near Caerwys in the early hours of Wednesday 21 January.

The incident was reported at around 4am. The horse was last seen in its stable when it was checked, raising concerns about suspicious activity at the stable yard.

North Wales Police said the circumstances surrounding how the horse left the yard are being investigated.

Officers are asking anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the Caerwys area around that time to come forward.

Police have also highlighted the importance of rural CCTV and camera systems, saying they can play a key role in identifying suspicious activity and supporting welfare checks. Residents are being encouraged to check that cameras are working properly, including batteries, solar panels and Wi-Fi connections.
