A Sales Manager has celebrated 30 years at a Mitsubishi dealership and declared: “I still love coming to work.”

Nick Hodge joined Gallaghers of Sandycroft, in Deeside, near Chester, in 1985 as a Sales Executive.

Within a year he was promoted to Sales Manager at the Chester Road showroom and has remained at the family-run firm ever since, selling cars to thousands of customers including Liverpool legend John Barnes, golfer Ian Woosnam, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and the Duke of Westminster.

It’s been a busy three decades for Nick, 54, who still sells to the same customers from when he first started.

He said: “You learn something new every day in this job – that’s the best thing about it. It’s so varied – you get to meet a whole range of people from the occasional celebrity to repeat customers. I still enjoy coming to work – not many people can say that after 30 years.”

Sales Manager Nick has enjoyed many trips around the world, courtesy of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, thanks to his top sales success.

But he has had to keep up with the times as sales techniques have radically altered with the addition of technology over the years.

Nick said: “The way we sell cars now has changed considerably especially with the expansion of the internet in the past 10-15 years. People come to the dealership far more armed with information about the vehicles than before.

“The Mitsubishi product range has also changed considerably. We love the products on the market – we can sell them with total confidence.

“We have nurtured a good customer base over the years. We are a family firm and people love to come to us for that personal touch.”
