Road closures and traffic lights affecting Shotton, Mold, Flint and Connah’s Quay this week

Drivers across Flintshire face a busy week of roadworks, with road closures and traffic lights affecting routes from Shotton to Mold and Holywell to Buckley.

Chester Road West in Shotton has four-way traffic lights in place for active travel improvement works that are not due to finish until 12 September 2026.

A road closure on Stag Lane in Shotton runs from Monday to Saturday while Network Rail carries out a bridge inspection, with overnight working in place.

Four-way lights are in operation at Church Street and Coleshill Street in Flint from Monday through to 17 April for highways maintenance work by Flintshire County Council’s Streetscene Services.

The A550 Pen-y-Ffordd roundabout has four-way lights in place until 31 March for highways maintenance.

Queen’s Lane in Mold closes on Thursday 19 March and remains shut until 30 March for overnight highways maintenance.

Ffordd Llanfynydd in Llanfynydd has been closed since 2 March for emergency works by Flintshire County Council, with that closure continuing until 20 March.

Wales and West Utilities gas works on Hamilton Road in Connah’s Quay bring two-way lights from Monday to Thursday.

Three-way lights are in operation on Mold Road in Buckley for gas works from Wednesday to Friday.

Electrical works by OConnor Utilities have lane closures in place on Shotwick Road at the A548 junction in Sealand and at Parkway, Deeside, until 20 March.

Three-way lights remain on St Davids Park Spine Road in Ewloe until 3 April for electrical works, and on Alderberry Road in Hawarden until 3 April.

Welsh Water has two-way lights on Denbigh Road in Mold until 13 April.

An active travel scheme brings stop-and-go traffic management to Old Mold Road in Ewloe on Monday and Tuesday only.

Carmel Road in Carmel, Holywell, has been closed since late February for Wales and West Utilities gas works, with that closure running until 24 March.
