Driver taken to hospital after HGV overturns on the A548 near Deeside Industrial Estate

A heavy good vehicle has overturned on the A548 heading into Deeside Industrial Estate close to the roundabout and services.

The incident happened just after 8am, the driver of the lorry has been taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.

One lane is currently closed on the A548, the road will fully close at 6pm for recovery of the HGV.

A spokesperson for Flintshire County Council has said;

Flintshire County Council is aware of the incident of a large articulated vehicle on its side.   We are putting in a one lane closure and the road will be closed at 6pm tonight to remove the vehicle.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service has said;

We were called today at 08:08am to reports of an overturned lorry in the Deeside Industrial Estate, Flintshire.

We responded with one emergency ambulance where a male patient was treated at scene before being taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
