Homes and businesses across parts of Deeside are experiencing problems with their power supply, with some residents reporting intermittent supply and repeated flickering.

SP Energy Networks says the issue is affecting areas within the CH5, CH64 and CH65 postcode districts, including parts of Deeside.

The power provider confirmed the disruption was first reported at 8.30am on Monday.

According to information published on the company’s live power cuts list, the outage has been caused by a fault on an overhead voltage line.

Engineers are carrying out investigations and repairs, with restoration taking longer than first expected.

The company now estimates power will be fully restored by 3.30pm today, Monday 9 February.

Online comments shared by local residents suggest the impact has been uneven, with some areas experiencing brief outages or power switching on and off several times rather than a complete loss of supply.

Areas mentioned include Queensferry, Mancot and residential streets within the CH5 area.

SP Energy Networks said the network has been switching customers to alternative supplies where possible to reduce disruption while work continues.

The company said it apologised for the continued interruption and thanked customers for their patience while repairs are completed.
