Police watchdog notified after collision between motorcycle and police vehicle in Flintshire

North Wales Police has notified the police watchdog after a collision between a marked police vehicle and an off-road motorcycle in Flintshire.

The collision happened on Oakenholt Lane, Oakenholt, shortly after 12pm on Thursday.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries described by the force as non-life-threatening.

North Wales Police said it had made the Independent Office for Police Conduct aware of the incident.

Forces are required to refer incidents to the IOPC where there has been a death or serious injury following police contact, or where police actions may have caused or contributed to an incident.

The force has not said whether the police vehicle was responding to a call at the time or whether there were any other circumstances leading up to the collision.

No details have been given about the age or sex of the motorcyclist or whether anyone in the police vehicle was injured.

Oakenholt Lane was closed while investigations were carried out.
