Police warning as 9 Nissan Navaras stolen across Cheshire including Chester

Nine Nissan Navaras have been stolen across Cheshire in the past two months, including one from Chester, with police warning owners that locking their doors alone will not protect them.

Cheshire Police said all nine were keyless thefts carried out since 1 January.

Six vehicles were taken from Warrington, two from Congleton, and one each from Chester and Crewe.

Chief Inspector Rob McLoughlin said: “These are keyless thefts, so just making sure your doors are locked won’t keep it secure.”

He urged owners to store keys away from where the vehicle is parked or use a faraday pouch to block the signal.

“You could also think about getting a steering wheel lock,” he said.

Chief Inspector McLoughlin also asked residents with doorbell cameras to keep them charged and working to help capture any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information can contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via their website.

Information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
