Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was injured following a collision on Sunday.

Shortly before 7:30am police received a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a Vauxhall Astra on the A541 from Leeswood towards Caergwrle.

An ambulance was called and the pedestrian, a 40-year-old local man, was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital with what was believed to be serious injuries.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from North Wales Police’ Roads Policing Unit said:

“Thankfully the injuries are not as serious as first thought and the man is recovering in hospital.

“We are appealing to anybody who may have seen the man walking along the road prior to the collision to contact us. Anybody with information that could assist our investigation should contact us on 101, or via the live webchat, quoting reference U189454.”

A541 Mold Road in Hope was closed for several hours between the Fagl Lane junction and the A5104 junction due to the collision and police accident investigation work.
