Police say they are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident where a vehicle was seen acting in a suspicious manner in Llandyrnog yesterday.

Reports on a Llandyrnog community Facebook page say occupants of the car police are looking for tried to snatch children near the old railway in the village.

Police are hunting for the occupants, two men and a woman, of old shape sky blue Renault Clio.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon when the village was playing host to the Bus Roye 76 beer festival.

Detective Inspector Steve Williams from North Wales Police said:

We are continuing to appeal for information relating to a blue Renault Clio, which was seen acting suspiciously in the Llandyrnog area of Denbigh.

We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed an altercation between a group of children and the occupants of a blue Renault Clio.

The vehicle, which is described as being an old shaped 5 door Clio with scratches on the bonnet, was seen in suspicious circumstances in the area between 3pm and 6pm on Saturday 8th July and was believed to have had three people inside – two males and a female.

DI Williams added:

There would have been a number of people in the village yesterday as the Bus Route 76 Beer Festival was taking place in Llandyrnog and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a similar vehicle driving around or who witnessed the incident involving the children.”

Anyone who may be able to identify the car and its occupants is asked to call 101 quoting reference V102034.
