Ten new planters have been installed at Buckley Shopping Centre, funded through the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund as part of Flintshire County Council’s Town Centre Investment Programme.

The planters were manufactured by R & G Landscaping, a local company, and filled with plants, seeds and bulbs supplied by Daleside Garden Centre in Hawarden.

They were filled on Thursday 12 February by volunteers.

The planters will be maintained by Shelbys Place CIC, a community group based in the shopping centre, along with a group of volunteers involved in cleaning and greening Buckley town centre.

Sharon Beck from Shelbys Place CIC said: “We are committed to providing the Community with a Safe Space where anyone can access support, in a friendly environment.

“We provide sustainable groups and activities, and we also promote pride in our community for all abilities to join in, there’s a job for everyone.”
Shelbys Place CIC operates as a community hub and social enterprise in Buckley.

Its volunteer gardening group is open to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Anyone interested in joining can contact Sharon Beck at Shaz’s Shabby Chic/Shelbys Place CIC on 01244 267499.
