The Ivy Collection is to open a new restaurant on Newgate Street in Chester on Tuesday 28 April.

The Ivy Chester Brasserie will be the 46th site in The Ivy Collection and will offer all-day dining from breakfast through to late-evening service.

The venue has 163 covers and includes a terrace.

The Ivy Collection says the opening will create over 100 jobs in Chester.

The group operates a chain of brasseries and neighbourhood cafés across the UK and Ireland, offering all-day dining from breakfast through to late-evening cocktails.

Menus are built around modern British dishes alongside seasonal specials, with the group known for a style that combines accessible pricing with a more formal dining atmosphere than most high street restaurants.

The collection takes its name and inspiration from The Ivy in Covent Garden, which opened in 1917 and became one of London’s most well-known restaurants.

The group has existing sites in Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Liverpool, among other UK cities.

Kate Cooper, Restaurant Operating Officer for the North at The Ivy Collection, said: “It’s the warmth, pride and unmistakable character of the people of Chester that make the city such a natural home for our next opening.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to offer a vibrant yet relaxed space that reflects the richness of the city, welcoming both residents and visitors alike. Chester already boasts a rich hospitality culture, and we’re proud to become part of that story.”

The group says further details on the Chester opening, including opening celebrations, will be announced in the coming weeks.
