Motorist arrested for drink driving after being stopped on the A494 in Deeside
A woman has been arrested for drink drive offences after providing a positive breath
The 41-year-old was initially stopped due to her erratic driving on the A494 at Sealand police say.
She has since been charged with drink driving and bailed to appear before Mold Magistrates on November 8th.
Police say they have dealt with a spate of drink and drug driving offences over the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon police were called to a report of a damage-only collision on the A55 St Asaph involving two-vehicles.
The female driver of one of the vehicles failed the roadside breath test and was arrested and taken to police custody.
The 54-year-old woman, who is from the Flint area, has since been charged with drink driving and driving without due care and attention.
She has been bailed to appear before Llandudno Magistrates on November 8th.
And a 27-year-old man from the Holywell area has been charged with drink driving and failing to stop for officers following an incident on the A548 in Bagillt during the early hours of Saturday morning.
He will be appearing before Mold Magistrates on November 8th.
On Saturday morning a man was stopped by officers on the A470 at Glan Conwy due to him driving at excess speed.
The 38-year-old man, who is from the Manchester area failed the roadside swipe test after testing positive for cannabis. He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Inspector Alun Davies from North Wales Police’ Roads Policing Unit said:
“It is disappointing that a small minority of people are still intent on ignoring our messages. North Wales Police are fully committed to help make the roads safer for all and will continue to target those who endanger their own lives and the lives of others.”
“We have a robust strategy around enforcing the Fatal 5 offences which includes drink and drug driving. We continue to target those who continue to endanger the lives of innocent road users. Anyone who is considering driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs should know that we will be out and about waiting.”
