Man jailed for 22 weeks after seven shoplifting offences at Sainsbury’s in Flint

A man who repeatedly targeted Sainsbury’s in Flint has been jailed for 22 weeks.

Stuart Hampson, 49, of no fixed abode, was found guilty of seven charges of shoplifting at the store.

He was arrested and remanded after North Wales Police worked with Sainsbury’s under Op Bastion, a targeted policing operation covering retailers in the Flintshire north area.

PC Dan Reilly said: “Working under Op Bastion, we apprehended Hampson, and I welcome that he has been convicted and sentenced to prison.”

“We will continue to target offenders under Op Bastion to protect retailers in the Flintshire north area.”
