Ice warning in place for Flintshire overnight

A yellow weather warning for ice has been issued for Flintshire, with patchy icy conditions expected to develop overnight into Wednesday morning.
The warning, issued by the Met Office, is in place from midnight until 10am on Wednesday and covers much of Wales, including Flintshire.
Forecasters say clearing skies overnight will allow temperatures to fall below freezing soon after midnight. Following recent wet weather, icy patches are likely to form on untreated surfaces.
The Met Office said: “Patchy ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces by Wednesday morning and may lead to some disruption.”
It warned that there could be “some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces” and “probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths”.
Residents are being advised to take extra care when travelling. The Met Office said: “Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal. Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.”
People travelling on foot are advised to use pavements along main roads, which are more likely to have been treated. Cyclists are also advised to stick to main routes where possible.
Drivers are being urged to check road conditions before setting out and to review bus and train timetables if making a journey, adjusting travel plans if necessary.
The Met Office added: “Be prepared for weather warnings to change. When a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
The warning has been classed as yellow, meaning it has a medium likelihood and a low impact.
