Hughes Pharmacy gets planning green light for Daniel Owen Precinct in Mold

Hughes Pharmacy has been granted planning permission to open in Mold town centre, taking over a unit in the Daniel Owen Precinct that was until recently home to a North Clwyd Animal Rescue charity shop.
Flintshire County Council approved the application, allowing a change of use from retail to pharmacy at 4A Daniel Owen Precinct, along with a new shopfront, new entrance doors and external signage including an illuminated pharmacy cross.
North Clwyd Animal Rescue opened a new shop at 6 Daniel Owen Precinct on 7 March, two doors from their previous location, having vacated the 4A unit ahead of the planning decision.
The charity announced the move on its website, saying its new shop at CH7 1AZ offers “pet essentials, clothing, books, electricals and homeware.”
The planning application was submitted on 28 January 2026 and was determined by a delegated officer decision rather than going before a planning committee.
The consent covers new fascia signage on the front and side elevations, with white aluminium box signs and black acrylic lettering, as well as a projecting illuminated green pharmacy cross.
