Drury Lane in Buckley closes on Sunday 30 March for gas pipe diversion work that is expected to last until 15 May.

Wales and West Utilities is carrying out the work at the request of Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, which will complete its own project on the same stretch once the gas pipe work is finished.

The work has been planned in three phases.

Phase one covers Drury Lane between the junctions of Drury New Road and Beech Road, with the closure running from 30 March to 15 May.

Phase two covers Beech Road between the junctions of Pinewood Avenue and Hawarden Drive, with that closure planned from 20 July to 28 August.

Phase three involves three-way traffic lights on Clydesdale Road, with dates still to be confirmed.

Wales and West Utilities has collaborated with Flintshire County Council on the works, and local residents have been notified.

Diversion routes will be clearly signposted throughout each phase.

Adam Smith, who is managing the work for Wales and West Utilities, said: “We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.”

Anyone who smells gas or suspects carbon monoxide should call the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999 immediately.
