Four weeks of A55 night closures set between Ewloe and Dobshill

Motorists are being advised to plan ahead as essential maintenance work is carried out on the eastbound A55 in Flintshire over a four-week period.
The Welsh Government says works will take place between junction 34 at Ewloe and junction 35 at Dobshill, starting on 22 February.
Weekday daytime restrictions will involve a single carriageway lane closure from 6am to 8pm.
Full eastbound closures will be limited to overnight periods during the week from 8pm to 6am, and at weekends from 8pm on Friday through to 6am on Monday.
During full closures, traffic will be diverted via the A494, A5117 and A41, rejoining the A55 at junction 39. All diversions will be clearly signposted in advance, according to the Welsh Government.
The work will involve removing worn surfacing, repairing underlying concrete slabs, replacing gullies and manholes, and resurfacing the road.
Ken Skates, Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, said: “Maintaining our roads is essential to keeping Wales moving, and the A55 is a vital artery for communities and businesses across the region.
“I understand that roadworks can be frustrating, and I want to thank drivers in advance for their patience while this important work takes place. The improvements we are making will help extend the life of this road for years to come.
“This investment reflects our commitment to maintain Wales’s infrastructure; with every pound we put in helping to protect road users, reduce vehicle damage, and support the local economy.”
The scheme forms part of a wider £25m Welsh Government investment to fix and prevent potholes across the Strategic Road Network, targeting major routes most in need of repair.
