Flintshire County Council has opened subscriptions for its 2026 garden waste collection service, with an expanded schedule that includes year-round collections for the first time.

The enhanced service will see the usual fortnightly collections for nine months of the year continue, alongside new monthly collections in December 2026, January 2027 and February 2027.

The annual subscription cost for 2026 is £38, which applies regardless of payment date.

Payments can be made online, by phone on 01352 701234, or at any Flintshire Connects office.

Garden waste collections will resume on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Councillor Glyn Banks, Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Waste and Transportation, said:
“We know how important this service is to residents, and we’re really pleased to be able to offer collections throughout winter for the first time. By introducing monthly winter collections as well as our fortnightly service, we’re making it easier for households to manage garden waste all year round while continuing to support Flintshire’s recycling efforts.”

Residents who have subscribed in previous years will not receive a new sticker once they re-subscribe. New subscribers will receive a sticker pack by post.

All collected garden waste is composted and made available free of charge to residents at the county’s Household Recycling Centres.

Residents are encouraged to renew early to ensure collections begin from the first pick-up date in March.

The council advises that the payment system will be unavailable between 6pm on Friday, 27 February, and 8am on Monday, 2 March, due to maintenance work.

More information and online sign-up links are available on the Flintshire County Council website.
