An IT services company founded in Flint has announced its expansion into Ireland, less than three years after launching.

Layer 4 was set up in the town in October 2023 and opened a second office in Liverpool in June 2025.

The firm, which provides managed IT support, cloud solutions, cybersecurity and connectivity services, said its Irish operation would initially serve businesses in Dublin and the surrounding area.

Co-founder Jo Milligan, who was born in Ireland, said the move had personal as well as commercial significance.

Jo Milligan, Co-Founder and Cloud Services Director, said: “This isn’t just about opening in a new market.”

“Ireland is part of my roots. So, bringing Layer 4 here feels very significant.”

“We’ve always believed in growing the right way. We build strong relationships. We support businesses properly. We stay true to who we are. Expanding into Ireland is a natural extension of that.”

Mark Hill, Managing Director at Layer 4, said: “We’ve grown by focusing on relationships, not tickets – and by aligning technology with real business goals.”

“Ireland represents an exciting opportunity to support organisations that want their IT to be secure, scalable and strategically aligned.”

The company said the expansion would also allow it to support UK clients with Irish operations and Irish businesses with a UK presence.

Layer 4 will offer its full range of services in Ireland, including remote, hybrid and on-site managed IT, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud solutions, cybersecurity and compliance services, and business connectivity.
