Firefighters practise aircraft emergency at Airbus Broughton

Firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have taken part in a joint training exercise with Falck Fire Service at the Airbus Broughton site.
The cross-border training day focused on improving coordination between crews and building familiarity with the Airbus site, which plays a major role in the local economy.
Crews began with a safety briefing before touring Falck’s Panther aircraft firefighting appliance and the on-site training facilities.
Firefighters were also shown key site hazards and the locations of water points across Hawarden airfield.
Live fire exercises formed a central part of the day.

Crews practised dual-attack firefighting tactics and worked through a multi-crew scenario simulating an Airbus A320 making a heavy landing with overheated brakes.
Falck has provided industrial fire and emergency services to Airbus since October 2021.
The company delivers emergency response, prevention work and fire equipment maintenance across Airbus facilities in the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
The Airbus contract is the largest industrial fire services agreement secured by Falck and supports fire cover at major aircraft manufacturing and testing sites.
