A Flintshire-based lift production, maintenance and repair company has reported a 20% increase in turnover over the past year and is now looking to recruit locally.

ACE Lifts, which is based in Deeside, says the growth reflects rising demand for its services from businesses across the UK.

The company currently employs 45 people and is seeking additional engineers, with a focus on strengthening its provision across north Wales.

Founded in 1988 by managing director Charles Salter, the family-run firm has worked with a range of Welsh organisations including Iceland, Airbus and Mostyn Estates.

In 2011, Mr Salter’s daughter, Laurel Salter, returned to the business and now leads its commercial operations.

The company has also partnered with Coleg Cambria and has taken on six apprentices this year across engineering and business roles. A business apprentice vacancy is currently open.

Speaking about the firm’s approach, Ms Salter said:
“As a family business, our roots have always been here in the Flintshire community. While we’re proud of our national growth, we know that our strength comes from staying true to who we are — working with local businesses and creating opportunities for local people.

“Recruiting talent locally and partnering with companies close to home isn’t just good business, it’s a way of honouring our values. Returning to those roots ensures that as we grow, we never lose sight of what makes us unique.”

ACE Lifts says its locally based, in-person customer service remains a key part of its offer, with customers able to speak directly to staff or visit the company’s Deeside office.

The business has also developed its own lift monitoring software, designed to work across different lift types, allowing engineers to identify faults early and reduce call-outs.
