Connah’s Quay Nomads open door to next scholarship intake

Connah’s Quay Nomads have announced a second open event for their full-time men’s scholarship programme in partnership with the Steven Gerrard Academy.

The open day will take place on Thursday 19 February at Ty Calon, Queensferry.

The event is open to current Year 11 students and 17 or 18-year-olds who want to train and play full time while gaining a Level 3 qualification in Sport.

The day will begin at 10am with arrival and an introduction. At 11:00, attendees will take part in a strength and conditioning session at partner facility Number One Gym.

Lunch will be provided free of charge at 12:00, followed by pitch training at 1pm.

The day will conclude with a debrief at 2pm, which parents are invited to attend, before departure at 3pm

The full-time scholarship programme is entering its twelfth season.

The programme includes three pitch sessions per week and two strength and conditioning sessions per week. Players compete in four leagues, Division 1 and Division 2 North West College Leagues, the Under 18s Reserve League and the Under 19s Cymru Academi Development League, offering up to two games per week.

Scholars are provided with GPS performance tracking and Veo technology to film all sessions and matches.

Coaching and support staff include UEFA Pro and UEFA A Licence coaches, UEFA B qualified goalkeeping coaches, a chartered physiotherapist and sports therapists, along with sports science and conditioning staff.
