Bagillt man and woman charged over Birkenhead escort agency investigation

Two people from Flintshire have been charged following an investigation into the operation of an escort agency in Birkenhead, Merseyside.

The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit said its Anti-Money Laundering Unit charged a man and a woman on Monday, 16 February.

Leanne Thomas, 50, and David Thomas, 58, both of Bagillt, were charged with controlling prostitution for gain, keeping a brothel, money laundering and the selling of medicinal products in breach of the Human Medicines Regulations.

The charges follow an investigation conducted by officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit.

Leanne Thomas and David Thomas have been released under investigation and are due to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court on 23 March 2026.
