Abnormal load to travel via A494 and A55

Motorists travelling along the A494 and A55 on Wednesday afternoon are being advised to allow extra time due to a police escorted abnormal load.

North Wales Police said the escort will begin at 13:00 on Wednesday 4 March from Chester Services at Junction 14 of the M56.

The route will travel via the A494 and along the A55 to Junction 2, before continuing on the B4545 and Ravenspoint Road to Lee Caravan Park, Trearddur Bay, Holyhead.

In a statement, North Wales Police said: “POLICE ESCORTED ABNORMAL LOAD:

Please allow extra time for journeys and use alternative routes where necessary.”

Drivers in Flintshire and across North Wales are advised to plan ahead, particularly those using the A55 westbound during the afternoon.
