Young witness praised by police after phone evidence leads to charges in north Flintshire

North Wales Police officers covering north Flintshire responded to 50 calls for service in 24 hours, with 11 requiring an emergency response.
The North Flintshire neighbourhood policing team published its daily update on Tuesday morning, covering activity from the previous day.
Of the 50 calls, five were recorded as domestic crime incidents, seven as anti-social behaviour incidents, and two as concern for safety calls.
Three people were arrested during the period: one on suspicion of domestic-related assault, one on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour, and one on suspicion of shoplifting.
Officers recorded 32 incidents for write-up and seven had been logged as crimes at the time the update was published.
North Wales Police said there were no reported burglaries or hate-related incidents during the period.
The team highlighted the actions of a young person who approached officers at the scene of a crime and handed over footage captured on their phone.
North Wales Police said the evidence was important to the investigation and helped bring a number of charges against offenders.
District Inspector Stevenson recognised the individual for their bravery.
The force used the update to repeat its appeal for members of the public to come forward with information, saying community intelligence, including witness accounts and CCTV footage, forms part of standard investigative work alongside house-to-house inquiries.
Police dog Polly, based with the north Flintshire unit, assisted with a drugs warrant in Abergele as part of separate operational work.
