Two arrests and 45 incidents in 24 hours for North Flintshire police

North Flintshire police say they have dealt with 45 incidents in the past 24 hours, including 11 priority calls attended with lights and sirens.
According to an update shared by NWP North Flintshire on social media, recent reports included two domestic crime incidents, one concern for safety, and three cases of anti-social behaviour.
Officers made two arrests during the same period: one for suspected drug driving and one for failing to provide a sample at the roadside.
A police spokesperson explained that failing to provide a preliminary sample and failing to provide an evidential sample are separate offences. The post said: “Failing to provide at the roadside relates to our preliminary testing – so the drugs wipe and the breathalyser. Sometimes people just outright refuse, sometimes they can’t through intoxication or medical problems.”
The update added that anyone unable or unwilling to provide a sample is taken to custody, where a nurse assesses whether any refusal is genuine or medically justified.
The force also reported disruption on local roads due to recent snow and ice, urging drivers to take care. The spokesperson said: “Make sure as well as defrosting to get the built-up snow off the car, as this can present a danger to those driving behind you.”
