Thieves steal lighting worth thousands from Shotton Steel RFC

Shotton Steel RFC have said they are “absolutely shocked and gutted” after their storage container units at Ty Calon, Queensferry Campus, were broken into and thousands of pounds worth of lighting equipment stolen.
The theft took place on Wednesday evening, with the club saying the loss will affect everyone from junior players to the senior squad.
In a statement shared online, the club said: “We are absolutely shocked and gutted that our storage container units have been broken into this evening, and thousands of pounds worth of lighting units have been stolen.
“Our club exists to be a part of the community, have a place for those with the love of the sport to better themselves and most importantly for the younger generations to train, play and socialise.
“These lights allowed that to continue on the darker evenings, something which will affect everyone from young kids to our first team players.”
The club urged anyone offered lighting equipment matching their description to contact police or the club directly.
“If you see lights like these being offered, please contact the police or the club,” the statement said.
“Please share this post and as a community try to protect those things worth so much more than monetary value.”
