Strong turnout for Deestriders at Flint’s first parkrun

An excellent turnout of Deestriders runners took part in the inaugural Flint Castle parkrun at the weekend.

Max Dowell led the club home in 19 minutes 51 seconds, followed by Antony Woodall in 23:09 and David Temple in 23:29. Other finishers included Graham Burke (23:57), Paul Lyth (24:14), Andy Wainwright (26:06), Paul Lewtey (26:24), Christine Cammillare (27:12), Fred Aird (27:22), Donna Griffiths (27:46), Darren Low (27:51), Kevin Burns (28:36), Jenny Lewtey-Jones (31:53), Paul Collins (36:59) and Helen Campbell (61:48).

Elsewhere, the North Wales Cross-Country Championships were held in Bangor on Saturday afternoon. Christine Cammillare clocked 27:07 to claim bronze in the women’s V40 category, while Beverley Goodson secured bronze in the V55 race with a time of 43:03. Graham Burke made his debut in the main men’s race, finishing in 47:54.

John Barron completed the 43-mile Country to Capital Ultra on Saturday. The race began in Wendover and finished in Paddington, London, with Barron completing the scenic route in 9 hours 28 minutes and 23 seconds.
