Santa Dash brings festive fun back to Mold town centre

Mold residents are getting ready for a festive workout as the annual Santa Dash returns on Sunday 14 December.
The event, organised by the Mold and Buckley Round Table, raises funds for local good causes and is expected to draw hundreds of participants of all ages.
Runners will set off from Daniel Owen Square at 11am for a 2km route around the town. Each adult entrant will receive a Santa suit, while all finishers will be rewarded with a mince pie and medal.
Colin Devitt, trustee of the Mold and Buckley Round Table, said:
“As well as offering up some festive fun and a chance to get some exercise, we’re pleased to be able to continue to support our local area by getting people together. All adult entrants get a Santa suit, and all finishers receive a mince pie and medal, so it’s a great way for everyone to get involved, whether they’re a seasoned runner, or just want to do something different this year.
“We have a really busy schedule at Christmas, as we also help Santa on his sleigh as it travels around the area, and feed lots of people on Christmas Day, but the Santa Dash is becoming a firm favourite for us.”
Last year’s event raised around £2,000 for local community projects, and organisers say they expect to welcome even more entrants this year. Local gym FarmFit will lead a group warm-up, and MC Ian Gibbons will keep runners entertained throughout the route.
The 2025 Santa Dash has received sponsorship support from Lovell Homes, which recently opened a new housing development in Mold.
