Overnight closure set on A55 between Caerwys and Holywell

Traffic Wales has issued notice of an emergency overnight closure on the A55 eastbound between Caerwys and Holywell.

The closure, from 8pm on Tuesday 25 November through to 6am on Wednesday, is needed to allow recovery work after a collision on the route on Monday.

In a statement shared on social media, Traffic Wales said, “Emergency Overnight Closure #A55 J31 Caerwys to J32 Holywell.

“Following yesterday’s collision on the A55, recovery work is required to remove the vehicle involved.

“As a result, the eastbound carriageway will be fully closed from 25/11 20:00 to 26/11 06:00.

“➡️Diversion via A5026”.

The closure applies to the stretch heading towards Deeside from junction 31 at Caerwys to junction 32 at Holywell.

Drivers travelling eastbound are being diverted along A5026 through Holywell.
