North Wales Police sets out plan for neighbourhood policing and early intervention on anti-social behaviour

North Wales Police has launched a regional plan to tackle anti-social behaviour, committing to a named and contactable neighbourhood officer for every local area across the force.
The ASB Action Plan sets out how the force intends to address anti-social behaviour through neighbourhood policing, early intervention and partnership working with local councils, housing providers and health organisations.
Under the plan, every neighbourhood will have a visible policing team and a direct contact route for residents to raise concerns.
Flintshire County Council is among the local authorities expected to work with the force as part of the plan’s partnership approach.
Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman said: “Anti-social behaviour can have a profound effect on individuals, families and communities.
“It undermines people’s sense of safety, damages public confidence and diminishes the quality of life across our neighbourhoods.
“We understand that in order to tackle anti-social behaviour we need strong and effective partnerships.
“Whilst I have invested heavily in neighbourhood policing, we must work together to ensure that we deliver a meaningful service to the public of North Wales.
“The cause of anti-social behaviour is complex.
“Our focus cannot simply be on enforcement.
“We will always look towards prevention and engagement.
“I recognise that early intervention and education are critical in addressing the underlying issues and that we must work closely with our communities to deliver sustainable and long-term improvements.”
