Men from Flintshire and Denbighshire charged over high value Tesco theft

Police have charged three men in connection with a high-value shoplifting incident at a supermarket in Abergele.

Officers were called shortly after 8pm on Tuesday, 2 December, following reports that three males had stolen a trolley full of items from the Tesco store on Market Street.

Electrical goods, alcohol, and food items worth more than £1,700 were recovered.

The suspects were located and arrested a short distance away near the Lorne Hotel on Market Street in Rhyl.

Stuart Paul Hampson, 49, of Bodfor Street, Rhyl, Lee Michael Ure, 42, of Marine Road, Pensarn, and Benjamin Alec West, 34, of Maes Gwyn, Flint, have been charged with shoplifting offences.

All three are due to appear at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court this morning, Thursday, 4 December.
