How does Flintshire’s £2,376 council tax bill stack up against the rest of Wales?

Flintshire residents face an average council tax bill of £2,376.17 for a Band D property from April, following the publication of official Welsh Government figures today.
The figure is an increase of £129.70, or 5.77%, on the 2025-26 bill of £2,246.47.
For a Band D household, that works out at approximately £10.81 extra a month, though the actual amount paid varies depending on the band of the property and any discounts or exemptions in place.
Flintshire’s bill sits £93 above the Wales-wide average Band D figure for 2026-27, which Welsh Government data puts at £2,283.
Within north Wales, only Conwy at £2,472 and Gwynedd at £2,468 have higher Band D bills.
Flintshire’s 5.77% overall rise is the second highest in the region, behind Conwy where the bill increased by 6.55%.

UK consumer price inflation over the same five-year period rose by approximately 26%, though the most recent annual figures in that comparison are based on ONS projections rather than final data.
