Former Croes Atti site could become family support base

Flintshire County Council is exploring options for the former Croes Atti site in Flint, with early planning work now under way to assess how the site could be used to support children, young people and families across the county.
The council has secured initial funding to carry out feasibility studies and consider different potential uses for the site.
This includes exploring how it could host early help and preventative services for families, working alongside local partners.
The focus of the work is to understand local need and examine how services for children and families could be brought together in a more accessible, community-based setting.
Councillor Christine Jones, Cabinet Member for Social Services, said:
“We know how important it is for children, young people and families to be able to access the right support at the right time, close to their community.
“This funding gives us the opportunity to explore how the former Croes Atti site could potentially be used to support that aim.”
No final decisions have been made about the site’s future.
The council has said it will work with partners and stakeholders as proposals are developed, ensuring plans are sustainable, collaborative, and aligned with the needs of Flintshire’s children and families.
Further updates will be shared as the work progresses.
