Flintshire stays under yellow Met Office snow warning as forecast updated

Flintshire remains under a yellow weather warning for snow after the Met Office issued an updated forecast linked to Storm Goretti.
The warning, which covers a large part of Wales, is in force from 5pm on Thursday, 8 January, until midday on Friday, 9 January.
An update was issued at 11.53am on Wednesday, expanding the warning area elsewhere and bringing the start time forward.
Forecasters say rain will spread across Wales on Thursday afternoon and evening, before turning to snow overnight as colder air moves in.
Snow is expected to accumulate first on higher ground, with lower levels increasingly affected overnight. While not all areas are expected to see lying snow, accumulations of 5 to 10 centimetres are considered likely in many places.
There is potential for heavier snowfall in some locations, with 15 to 25 centimetres possible on hills above 200 metres.
The Met Office said there is also a chance of up to 30 centimetres over high ground in parts of Wales.
Flintshire residents are being warned of possible travel disruption, including delays on roads and the risk of some vehicles becoming stranded. Disruption to rail and air travel is also possible.
Power cuts may occur, and services such as mobile phone coverage could be affected. Some rural communities could become temporarily cut off if snow accumulates more widely.
The Met Office said there remains uncertainty around the exact track of Storm Goretti, which will influence where the most disruptive snow falls.
Snow amounts are expected to vary over short distances depending on elevation and precipitation intensity.
As the system clears eastwards on Friday, conditions are expected to turn more mixed, with rain, sleet and snow possible before improving later in the day.
The storm has been named by Meteo France, with the strongest winds forecast to affect northern France rather than the UK.
People in Flintshire are being advised to plan journeys carefully, allow extra time for travel and check for road closures or delays.
Drivers are encouraged to prepare their vehicles and carry essentials such as warm clothing, food, water and a phone charger.
