Police have warned motorists to take extra care after a number of road traffic collisions were reported across the South Flintshire area on Thursday morning due to icy conditions.

North Wales Police South Flintshire said that their control room had received several reports of crashes in the Leeswood, Pantymwyn and Pontblyddyn areas, with black ice creating hazardous conditions.

In a statement shared on social media, the force said:
“Good morning everyone. It’s a chilly start to the day and our control room are receiving multiple reports this morning of road traffic collisions in the Leeswood, Pantymwyn and Pontblyddyn areas due to black ice. Please try to stick to main roads and avoid untreated roads which are more likely to pose hazardous driving conditions.”
