Flintshire Connects centres are operating reduced hours this month after Flintshire County Council said it is dealing with significant staff shortages.

The council announced the changes on today, saying some centres across the county would be closed on certain days throughout April 2026.

Flintshire Connects centres provide face-to-face access to a range of council services for people who find it difficult to use online or telephone options.

Services available at the centres include adult social services, benefits advice, blue badge applications, council tax, housing, and payments for council services by card, cash or cheque.

The five centres are in Buckley, Connah’s Quay, Flint, Holywell and Mold.

Each centre is now opening on selected days only rather than five days a week.

Buckley Connects, based at Buckley Library in The Precinct, is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30 April.

Flint Connects, on Church Street, is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 1, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22, 24, 28 and 29 April.

Holywell Connects, at the Old Town Hall on High Street, is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 2, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 27, 28 and 30 April.

Mold Connects, at Mold Library on Earl Road, is open on Mondays and Wednesdays only: 1, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29 April.

All centres open at 9am and close at 4:30pm on operating days.
