Family tribute to woman, 89, who died after Flintshire collision

The family of a woman who died following a road traffic collision in Flintshire have paid tribute to her.
Eirlys Elizabeth Williams, aged 89, was involved in a collision on the A5026 in Gorsedd on Monday 18 August. She was taken to hospital but died on Friday 5 September.
In a statement, her family said: “Eirlys was known for her quick wit and spirited sense of humour. She was a loving mother to Rae and Antony (Tony) and a cherished grandmother to six.
“Eirlys found joy in reading, socialising with friends, and supporting the community. She leaves behind a legacy of boundless, fun memories and smiles for all who knew her.”
North Wales Police said officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to appeal for information.
Detective Sergeant Katie Davies said: “Our thoughts remain with Mrs Williams’ family and friends at this difficult time. We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this two-car collision, which involved a red Nissan Micra and a grey BMW X3.
“The incident occurred shortly after 1.30pm on Monday, 18 August. We are appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage of the incident, to contact us.”
