Drop in clinics open for winter vaccines in Flintshire

Adults eligible for an NHS flu or Autumn COVID-19 vaccine will be able to attend walk in clinics across Flintshire without an appointment from Monday 8 December.
Health officials say full details of eligibility for both vaccines are available online. People who have already received an appointment are asked to keep it if possible.
Health teams say flu began circulating earlier than usual this year, with around 250 people needing inpatient care during October and November.
Officials expect cases to rise over the coming weeks as people gather indoors in the run up to Christmas.
They say the NHS flu and Autumn COVID-19 vaccines can lower the chance of catching the viruses, reduce symptom severity and lessen the likelihood of passing them on.
The flu vaccine is being offered to everyone aged 65 and over, and adults under 65 with a range of health conditions including asthma, diabetes and heart complaints.
It is also available to NHS and health workers, social care staff and carers. Nasal spray flu vaccines for children aged two and three are available from GP surgeries, and school age children can receive a spray vaccine at catch up clinics.
Following Welsh Government guidance, the Autumn COVID-19 vaccine is being offered to adults aged 75 and over, people who live in care homes for older adults and adults and children aged six months or over who have weaker immune systems.
