Resurfacing works have begun on the B5125 Chester Road in Broughton, with night-time closures in place.

Flintshire County Council confirmed the scheme will take about one week, depending on weather.

The works cover the stretch between Manor Lane roundabout and Broughton roundabout.

To allow the resurfacing, Chester Road will be closed each night between 6.30pm and 6am.

A signed diversion is in place for all through traffic.

Access will be maintained for properties and businesses, but the council has warned short delays may occur.

The diversion route runs for about 5 miles and takes an estimated 12 minutes.

Drivers will be directed from Chester Road via Main Road, Mold Road and onto the A55 North Wales Expressway, before exiting at the Dobshill roundabout to the A550 and up to Hawarden.

Flintshire County Council said: “We apologise for any delay or disruption that may be caused during this essential maintenance work.”

The works are being carried out by the council’s contractor, Tarmac Trading Ltd.
