Afon Spa at Deeside Leisure Centre will open its doors for a special festive relaxation evening this Monday 1 December, inviting visitors to experience what many describe as one of Deeside’s “hidden gems”.

Located within the busy leisure centre, Afon Spa features a full thermal suite including a jacuzzi, infrared sauna and steam room, offering a calm and restorative setting that feels far removed from the activity of the main gym.

Regular visitors say the contrast is striking, describing the move from the energetic gym floor to the spa’s warm, quiet space as “like stepping into a completely different world.”

The spa has also been named a finalist in the Professional Beauty Awards for Spa Team of the Year, a notable recognition placing the Deeside facility alongside some of the leading spa teams in the UK.

A Gwella spokesperson said: “We are extremely proud of our spa team. They work hard to deliver high standards of treatment and a warm welcome for every guest. Being recognised nationally is a real achievement and reflects the care, consistency and professionalism the team brings to the spa every day.”

Monday’s festive evening will include live treatment demonstrations, mini treatments priced at £10, and exclusive spa packages available only on the night. Complimentary refreshments will also be provided.

Guests will receive 30 percent off all treatments booked for January and February, offering an opportunity for post-Christmas relaxation and recovery.

The team will be showcasing a range of advanced skincare treatments, including microdermabrasion, designed to improve skin texture, reduce dullness and prepare the skin for the Christmas party season.

Gift sets and vouchers will also be available, offering options for Christmas presents and year-round self-care. Treatments at Afon Spa include massages, facials, body therapies and specialist skin services.

Spaces for the festive evening are limited and booking is essential.
