The daughter of a Wirral woman who has been missing for more than five years has made an emotional appeal for information on her mother’s whereabouts, as police confirm she may have links to Chester.

Carol Mighall, 56, from Tranmere, was last seen on Monday 4 January 2021 on Rodney Street, Birkenhead.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out since she was reported missing and, while police have received numerous reports from members of the public, there have been no confirmed sightings.

Carol is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, of slim build and with a pale complexion. She has brown shoulder-length hair, often worn in a ponytail. When last seen, she was wearing a khaki parka-style coat with grey fur on the hood, blue jeans and black and white speckled trainers. She was also carrying a black handbag with a shoulder strap.

Carol is known to frequent Liverpool city centre and Birkenhead and may also have links to Chester.

Her daughter, Kayleigh Doyle, issued a direct appeal on Monday 12 January, saying:
“Mum, I still look when I’m out and about and a lot of people still talk about you. I really miss you and would love nothing more than you walk back into our life. Miss you mum. Time to come home xx.”

Merseyside Police said enquiries are ongoing and have appealed again for anyone with information to come forward so officers can make sure Carol is safe and well.

Anyone who has seen Carol or knows where she might be is asked to send a direct message to @MerPolCC on X (formerly Twitter) or call 101, quoting reference 21000039543.
