Chester: Police locate body during search for missing 21 year old

Police searching for a missing man in Chester have found a body in the Shropshire Union Canal.
William Webb, 21, was reported missing on Sunday 23 November after last being seen in the Northgate Street area of the city at around 4am. Searches had continued through the weekend and into Monday.
Officers located a body in the canal on Monday 24 November. Formal identification has not yet taken place, however police say the body is believed to be that of William. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Murray said:
“This was a young man who had his entire life ahead of him, and in what will be a difficult time for them, I would like to extend our thoughts to William’s family, friends and everyone who knew him.
“Despite this not being the outcome we hoped for, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues from the Constabulary and the Northwest Underwater Search Team for the utmost professionalism they have shown throughout, as well as William’s family, friends, and the local community who all helped with the search for William.”
